Privacy Policy

This explains, in plain English, what details we collect when you get in touch, why we collect them, and how we look after them. We keep things proportionate: we only ask for what we need to help you.

Who we are

GRO Exterior is a trading name of Grainger & Rossall Ltd. We supply and install made-to-measure roller garage doors from 1 Camp Road, Farnborough, Hampshire, GU14 6EN. For anything to do with your details, we are the data controller and you can reach us through our contact form.

What we collect

When you contact us or request a survey, we may collect:

  • Your name.
  • Your contact details (phone number and email address).
  • Your address and postcode, where you ask us to arrange a survey.
  • The details of your enquiry, including the model you are interested in and anything you tell us in your message.
  • Photos of your garage, if you choose to send them to help us quote.

If you send us photos, we use them only to prepare your quote and plan the work. They are stored privately, they are never published, and they are kept under the retention rules below.

Why we collect it

We use your details only to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, and arrange a free survey if you have asked for one. We do this to take the steps you have asked us to take and to run our business of providing garage doors. We do not use your details for marketing unless you tick the separate marketing box on the form; if you do, we may occasionally send you our own news and offers, and you can opt out at any time.

How long we keep it

We keep a record of who has contacted us and what was said, with no set expiry. That record is how we recognise you and pick up where we left off if you come back to us, even years later, and we keep it as a business record, not for marketing. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Photos have their own rules. If you send us photos but we do not go on to do the work, we delete them 12 months after we last heard from you. So if you come back to us within the year the photos are still here, and if you go quiet we clear them; garages change, and old photos are no longer useful for quoting. If we do carry out work for you, we keep your photos while the job is open and for six years after it closes. We use six years because it is the legal limitation period for contract claims in England and Wales, and a record of your property's condition at the time of your enquiry protects both you and us if a question is ever raised later.

Whichever applies, you can ask us to delete your details sooner. We consider every request individually and delete anything we have no genuine need to keep.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your details, and we do not share them beyond what is needed to provide our service. Your enquiry comes straight into our own enquiry system, hosted on Cloudflare's cloud platform alongside this website, and any photos you send are stored privately there too. When we correspond with you by email, our email providers carry those messages. These providers only process your details on our behalf and are not permitted to use them for their own purposes.

Cookies and third parties

Our website does not set any cookies of its own, and we do not use analytics or any visitor-tracking tools. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a spam-prevention check and the only third-party content on the site. It looks at technical signals from your browser to tell people from bots, runs only on that form, and does not track you across the web.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask us to delete them. To request access to or deletion of your data, please use our contact form and we will sort it out. If you are ever unhappy with how we have handled your details, you can also contact the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
